This journal is random musings of a philosopher who really ought to drink more.

Not because of any chemical or psychological dependency, but rather because alcohol (beer, red wine, scotch) used in moderation has been demonstrated by rigorous clinical trials to extend life, decrease "bad" cholesterol, and improve overall health in the population segment I'm a member of.

My problem is that I don't drink *enough* to get into that level of benefits (you need roughly 1 drink per day, I am usually only drinking one or two beers a week). Thus, I really ought to drink more.

So, for those of you who ask, no, you don't need to stage an intervention. You just need to get me to drink once a day.
